Wind farm threat of heart attacks

Residents have been left shocked by claims that they face an increased risk of heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure if they live within 1,000 metres of a proposed wind farm.
Villagers packed out Woore Victory Hall on October 4 to hear disturbing first hand accounts from people whose lives had been made a misery by living close to wind turbines across the UK.
Jane Davis from Lincolnshire explained how she and her family had been forced to abandon their house and rent one five miles away after her daughter developed hypertension as a direct result of infrasound emitted from a wind turbine 800 metres away.
David Brierely from Cumbria said he had been fighting for several years to resolve noise and health problems associated with a nearby wind turbine site but without success and had been left exhausted by the experience.
Residents near the proposed site at Dorrington, between Woore and Loggerheads, are waiting with trepidation for an announcement expected within weeks that Nuon Renewables will go ahead with the seven 110 metre high turbines.
Anti-windfarm Campaigner Tena Roberts said had been left stunned by what they heard at the meeting.
She said: “These presentations are proof that the wind turbines should be located at least 1km away from residential areas and pose a risk to people. Best Practice Guidelines state the turbines must be 1,000 metres but these will be 800metres away!
“We will be monitoring the site with noise experts and as soon as Nuon put in the bid we will fight it.”
No one from Nuon Renewables was available to discuss the claims.
