Who wants these ghastly turbines?

Who will benefit most from the erection of three gigantic wind turbines near Cumwhinton?

The glaringly obvious answer is the landowner(s) who are to allow their construction on farmland and who will reap the grim harvest.

A nice little earner.

For the rest, softeners – light bulbs and a community fund worth little in real terms.

Complainants, forget it; the city council will agree without demur.

In a world overpopulated by a factor of at least two, windfarms are reckoned to be the plant’s salvation.

Heaven help us. How presumptuous.

A trip to West Cumbria should convince intelligent proponents of windfarms that the reality is ghastly.

The off-shore turbines near Maryport show the frightful way ahead, a way leading to touristic extinction for our beautiful county.

More people means more power is needed in the National Grid.

Why do we keep on importing them?
