Protesters to go on windfarm walk

A protest group fighting plans to build nine wind turbines on the former Asfordby mine site is planning a public walk across the countryside where the windfarm is planned.
The group STOP (Stop Turbines Oppose Peel) is planning the walk for Sunday (February 6), setting off at 11am.
A STOP spokeswoman said: “Anyone interested in viewing where the turbines will be positioned and how they could impact on the surrounding landscape is invited to come along.”
The windfarm plans are currently being considered by Melton Council and could include turbines as tall as 125m (410ft).
