Regarding the ongoing debate over wind farms, it would be useful if the electricity-generating companies running back-up fossil fuel power stations would release hour-by-hour electricity generation data from fossil fuels and co-related that to hourly wind speeds and wind energy contribution to the National Grid in a series of graphs. Then the public would be able to see the net gain from wind energy in precise form.
At the moment, these facts are being hidden from the public. Many technical people feel there is a large element of duplication and waste in our energy-generating industries, costing the end-users tens of millions of pounds per year.
May I suggest that Ofgem demands release of hour-by-hour electricity generation data from the power companies?
