Concerned about proposal for Chapin Beach turbine

As property owners most affected by the proposed wind turbine at the Chapin Beach/ARC site, we write with our concerns.
The ARC wind turbine would be located within 2 miles of Sandy Neck, an area listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. A blinking red light from the turbine tower would continually shine over this area. The entire area is of unique scenic and human value. The ARC property stands at the edge of what is known as the Great Marshes, an area shared by Dennis and Yarmouth. Has a wetlands study identified threats to this pristine environment?
Wind turbines have the potential for disrupting and killing bird life. Endangered plovers, ospreys, willets, red-tailed hawks, blue herons and kingbirds all nest in this area. The Global Energy Concepts study recommended the Audubon Society study the impact of the wind turbine on bird life.
The status of the ARC corporation is somewhat opaque. ARC operates as an “aqua-farm” with agricultural exemptions in an area zoned residential. The plan for ARC to sell the town surplus energy would put ARC in the utility business. Would that require a zoning variance? What are the legal implications?
