Wind evaluations by public officials

It is my observation that wind farms have created havoc in Tipton County and are on the verge of creating a mess in Howard County. Based on my research, the current setback requirements of 1,042 feet near residential areas are totally inadequate to protect human life, home values and the environment. The proponents of wind farms say there is “no conclusive evidence of any negative impact.” Unfortunately, their studies eliminate the statistics that do not fit their models.
There are homes in the Wildcat Township of Tipton County that are surrounded by these 500-foot-tall wind turbines. These turbines are about 150 feet taller than the old Kokomo Gas Plant Tower.
I would propose that wind turbines should be installed exactly 1,042 feet from the residences of our public officials who serve on the Howard County Board of Commissioners and the Plan Commission Board. Their personal evaluations would be invaluable to the future development of wind farms near residential areas.
