Freedom voters narrowly approve one ordinance, defeat another

Freedom – At the ballot box Friday, March 8, residents rejected the Freedom Wind Turbine Ordinance by a margin of three votes while approving the Commercial Development Review Ordinance by three votes.
According to information provided by Town Clerk Cynthia Abbott, 104 residents rejected the Wind Turbine Ordinance while 101 cast ballots in favor of approving the document. Voters approved the Commercial Development Review Ordinance, 103-100.
In other news incumbent Selectman Ron Price was re-elected after running unopposed to retain his seat on the board, and voters also returned Abbott to the positions of town clerk, tax collector and excise tax collector. Ernestine Keller was elected to serve as town treasurer.
