Green Energy Act needs to be changed

As so many people face the possibility of living near industrial wind turbines, it seems to me that we need changes to the Green Energy Act. Of course this can be done only at the provincial level. Individuals and township councils have had to struggle long and hard, and it should not have fallen on their shoulders. The province got us into this situation, and a new premier, with the legislature again in session, just my be willing to make some changes. So what are the important changed we should ask for?
In my opinion, these are some:
• A two-kilometre setback … very important.
• An immediate moratorium until after the federal health study is complete
• A property value protection agreement in case the turbine are built
• The proponents start and maintain a decommissioning fund
• The proponents carry liability insurance
• A complaint resolution process be set in place if the turbines are built.
So phone your provincial member of parliament, Tim Hudak, as well as the office of the new Ontario premier. There, at the provincial level, is the power to help.
In conclusion, I have been favourably impressed with the research done by those opposed to the huge wind turbines and thank them for it. We already use wind power to pump water, aerate ponds, run generators and for ornamental windmills near homes. Local uses are efficient and do no harm to wildlife. So different from the proposed turbines.
