An action group against a wind farm proposal in south Northamptonshire is urging residents to keep on fighting.
The Helmdon, Stuchbury and Greatworth Windfarm Action Group (HSGWAG) made the plea after Broadview Energy lodged an appeal last Thursday.
The company’s initial application was rejected by South Northamptonshire Council in June. Keith Jones, HSGWAG chairman, said: “We are surprised that Broadview have ignored the clear message that South Northamptonshire’s planning department gave them in June this year. It is clear this scheme was contrary to a number of planning policies. We will fully support the council and intend to continue opposing this application in the strongest terms.”
Wind farm developer Broadview Energy had submitted an application to erect five 125-metre wind turbines between the three villages. They were to be sited less than 600 metres from the nearest properties.
A public inquiry will now determine the fate of the application.
