The Planning and Zoning Committee for Palmyra Township is meeting Thursday to discuss proposed wind turbines in the township.
Exelon Wind wants the committee to take the first step to pass an ordinance allowing a large-scale wind farm.
After a heated debate in neighboring Riga Township, trustees voted to allow the wind farm but with more severe restirctions. Exelon then opted out of the Riga deal, saying the ordinance was too restrictive.
The meeting takes place in Blissfield at the American Legion Post.
If the committee passes the document, a special meeting could be scheduled for enitre board of trustees. Otherwise, trustees are set to meet Sept. 1 in a regular meeting.
