Wind farm's impacts aren't minor to locals

The federal draft report on Cape Wind tries to evaluate the impacts of this massive project. Most issues are classified as minor, ignoring local sentiment.
The effect on fishermen making a living from Nantucket Sound is classified as minor, yet the loss of jobs this project would cause is clearly not a minor issue to the fishermen who could lose their livelihoods.
Birds killed and splattered by the turbine blade tips are not a minor issue to the birds or the environmentalists who try to protect them.
A plane losing visibility and potentially colliding with the turbines could result in human tragedy, even death, and that is certainly not a minor issue to the families and loved ones.
A compromised air search-and-rescue mission in the vicinity of the wind project could result in a failed rescue – not a minor issue.
The transfer of over $1 billion from taxpayers’ hard-earned money to the developer is also a major issue for taxpayers.
Let’s look at the impacts of this industrial scale project through the eyes of the affected and not the eyes of strangers living far from the Cape and isolated from its impacts. Locals need to speak up now before it’s too late.
