Warrnambool police detectives are on the way to the scene of a $50,000 cement truck fire on the Hamilton Highway which could be tied to wind farm protesters.
Detective Senior Constable Richard Hughes, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said the incident happened on the Hamilton Highway between Foxhow-Berrybank Road and Doyles Road, near Berrybank, east of Lismore.
"Police were called to the fire at 1.30am on Wednesday and local Country Fire Authority crews also attended," he said.
"The 2002 white Mack Metro Concrete Mixer is registered to a concrete business in Werribee and at this stage is not listed as stolen.
"Inquiries will be made with the business today.
"There was also graffiti on the rear of the truck stating 'No Windfarms!'."
Detective Senior Constable Hughes said an arson chemist would examine the truck on Wednesday and as yet the full extent of the damage was not known.
