Protect people by doing own wind research

Credit:  Journal-Courier | May 12, 2019 | www.myjournalcourier.com ~~

Citizens of Morgan County, please go to the website morgancounty-il.com to review the draft of the proposed Wind Energy Conversion Systems Ordinance. It is also available at the county clerk’s office.

We have perhaps less than 30 days to request changes. It is your chance to have a say in the future of wind industry in Morgan County.

However, many believe we need to keep the wind industry out of our community. The realities of the actual benefits of wind energy vs. the resulting destruction caused to our people and environment needs to be addressed. Educated, successful, rational people (like Bill Gates) are trying to get us to pay attention to the facts and understand how energy systems, economies, science and climate actually work.

Do your own research. They can’t just make policies, pass legislation, give out more taxpayer-supplied subsidies and rush into covering our world with solar and wind turbines to solve the problems. Fact: only a certain amount of our world’s energy needs can be met by intermittent, and less-energy-dense, renewables. We must have coal, gas and nuclear to back up solar and wind.

Those in the position to make big dollars are pushing hard to “go green” now, before we come to our senses and see that it does not work. By then, they have made their millions – and we have ruined our communities, health and environment.

You can’t just take all those solar panels and giant metal and fiberglass turbines and make them disappear. You definitely cannot get back what was destroyed.

We must make an ordinance protecting our citizens beyond all reasonable doubt, with extreme caution, until more studies are done on negative health effects from wind turbines – not what the wind companies claim works for the project to continue.

If our demands to protect our property, homes, health and way of life cannot be met, then … Go. Somewhere. Else.
