‘A Green Nightmare’

Credit:  The Public Opinion | March 16, 2019 | www.thepublicopinion.com ~~

A Response to “A Green Nightmare” by Sen. John Thune dated 03/01/2019:

I recently perused the patter of U.S. Sen. John Thune “A Green Nightmare.” Sen. Thune and others have made thousands of S.D. rural residents familiar with “A Green Nightmare”. It’s called Industrial Wind Turbine (IWT). We have known for years what it means to have property rights taken, due process ignored, and free speech eliminated and I can’t leave out “Quiet Enjoyment” of property.

Our Washington delegation continues to burden the least among us, the ratepayer, with a political campaign funding scheme, “government- knows-best policies.” Innocent families are being forced to do something they would normally not do. Their instincts tell them this is wrong. Our US delegation is forcing thousands of constituents to live among & near IWT. Living among the turbines will never happen to any of their families.

Some of us have lost tens of thousands and even hundreds of thousands of dollars so we can be certain our families will not be forced to reside among the turbines. We extricated ourselves from our retirement home in Deuel County before the construction of Deuel Harvest Wind Energy LLC.

How many tens of thousands of dollars has the Wind Energy Companies contributed to these re-election campaigns for support of the PTC? All the while this is happening innocent families are suffering both financially as well as from a negative impact on their health.

Finally, last year before the election, Rep. Noem was asked if she would be OK with turbines being sited near her family home. She did not seem to like the idea; but she is fine helping the Wind Developers forcing innocent families to live among the turbines.

Thanks Sen. Thune, Sen. Rounds, Gov. Noem, and Rep. Johnson!
