BOWBELLS, N.D. – The public will have its chance to voice opinions and ask questions next week on a proposed $289 million wind farm energy project in Burke and Mountrail Counties.
Burke Wind, LLC, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources has applied for permits for a nearly 23,000-acre wind energy center roughly 15 miles southwest of Bowbells, as well as a transmission line that would run through both counties.
The plan calls for up to 76 wind turbines, and a wind farm with a capacity of roughly 200 megawatts.
The 37-mile long transmission line would transport energy from the wind farm in Burke County to Basin Electric’s Tande Substation in Mountrail County.
The hearing will take place Fri., March 8 at 9 a.m. CST, at Memorial Hall, 100 Main Street NW, Bowbells, N.D., 58721.
You can find out more information about the plan, along with maps of the proposed energy center at the link attached to this story.
