A multimillion dollar Somerset County wind farm received a cash infusion Tuesday.
Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf announced that Mason Dixon Wind was approved for a $7 million grant through the state Renewable Energy Program.
The money for the projected $103,663,658 wind farm is to go toward adding 25 turbines, installation of interconnection equipment, an access road, crane pads and an operations building to house monitoring equipment, according to a state press release.
EverPower Wind Holdings, of Pittsburgh, is developing the project.
The company’s website states that the Mason Dixon Wind farm will be built in parts of Larimer and Southampton townships. The project is supposed to interconnect with the Twin Ridges Wind Farm substation in Southampton, according to the website.
A phone message left at EverPower Tuesday afternoon was not returned.
