SYCAMORE – The Concerned Citizens for DeKalb County group will have another community meeting 10 a.m. Saturday at Mayfield Congregational Church, 28405 Church Road, to update residents on countywide wind energy ordinance development and the status of the incoming wind farm project.

The meeting also will include a review of existing scientific research to assist the group in proposing standards for the ordinance affecting county residents, according to a news release. Some concerns previously cited by residents are harm to wildlife, distances of houses from the turbines, property values and health issues related to noise and shadow flicker exposure.

More than 70 residents attended the DeKalb County Planning and Zoning Committee on April 25. PJ Saliterman, project developer for EDF Renewables, has said the energy company is waiting for an ordinance at this point and fully plans on finishing the project regardless.

The meeting is free; for more information, call 630-448-2511 or email ConcernedCitizensforDeKalbCo@gmail.com.
