It was good to see “A new gust of revolt against wind power” in the Feb. 25 business section.
Something that is often missed in these discussions is the overall impact on the wealth of all Iowans. This is demonstrated by what Warren Buffet has said on his huge investment in wind energy: “… we get a tax credit if we build a lot of wind farms. That’s the only reason to build them. They don’t make sense without the tax credit.”
The reason this is important is that a purely market driven economy benefits all of us. One that is directed by government fiat influenced by crony capitalists moves wealth to the influential rather than the productive people.
This is a bad recipe for a prosperous people.
