County divided on wind farms 

Montgomery County is a divided community because of the wind turbine issue. Forty-two counties in Indiana are against wind turbines in their county; not wanting any built there, or stopping expansion of existing wind farms after being exposed to and living with all the real problems. They want nothing to do with these machines. There are people living in our county who have jobs and work in other counties that have wind farms but do not want to live anywhere near them. As is true in other counties, no one wants to be forced to live next to the wind turbines. We have people advertising in the newspapers and on the radio telling us how nice the wind turbines would be for our county. However, these people are being paid by the wind company promoting their side of the story.

If there are no health risks, then why are there so many medical studies, research projects, documentaries, lawsuits, testimonies, movies, books and No Wind Farm Groups in all states, Canada and the world that show the risks of having these near people’s homes?

I am sure the thousands of people involved in these projects for information regarding heath issues etc. are not lying. They have no reason to since they are not being paid by wind companies to do the research. And at the commissioners’ meetings when the wind farm reps or a few other uninformed people tell us these studies are bogus it doesn’t make sense. We have listened to a “sound expert” that the wind company flew in from another state. Well isn’t it obvious that he is going to be biased? Wind companies pay nonparticipating land owners money as a “gag order.” When you sign and take that money you are not allowed to speak out against the turbines about your health, sleep etc. Think about what that means.

The wind companies are paying to have the classes at Ivy Tech and Purdue. I have spoken to people taking those classes. Some were just taking the class for credit or taking it while waiting for space for other classes. Students were taken to wind farms for tours and on-site observation. The students I spoke with were not impressed and definitely do not want them anywhere near Montgomery County. They also told me they would not work for the wind farm companies.

As for any statements made by myself and the No Wind Farm Montgomery County group; we do our own research, we are not paid by anyone as to what to say. We have spoken to people who have fought this in their counties and have won. To be brushed aside and say that people who are against wind farms bring on

their own illnesses is absurd. We are not being paid by hard working taxpayer dollars. As a group we are spending our monies to fight these machines so they will not be in our back yard towering at almost 1,000 feet as one wind farm rep boasted. We pay our own expenses, along with donations from friends and neighbors who do not want to live among an industrial wind farm. Just for information and something to thing about … No Wind Farm Montgomery County is just one of more than 300 no wind groups in the United States and Canada. That does not count all the groups in foreign countries that have been formed.
