Wind farm issue already decided

I read the article about the wind farms. I notice articles always mention how many houses these will power. They don’t say that this power is not continuous. Wind turbines as I have read are about 30 percent operational due to wind changes. That means we still need coal- and gas-fired power plants and nuclear power plants to provide continuous power.
The proposed turbines for the Lexington area are about 100 feet taller than the ones that were originally installed east of Bloomington. The circle the blades cover is 3.6 acres, about three times larger than the original.
I attended one of the zoning meetings and reviewed videos of others. It is my feeling this matter has already been decided. The wind farm is going ahead. Why? Money for schools, county, tax maintenance and farmers’ income. What about the individual that has one installed 1,500 feet from their home and the noise or flickering light affects them to the extent they have to consider leaving? I feel there has been enough experience and testing to show this a real concern.
The affected individual has no viable recourse. I feel those that benefit from the wind farm – schools, county and farmers – should compensate the individual by either purchasing the home or pay to have the turbine removed. The complaint has to be verified, and not just a whim. We are not directly affected by the wind farm but have relatives that will be.
