Wind turbine 'drone' worries

Local councillor Chris Collis says wind turbines would be ‘like having toothache’ – a dull constant pain.
Cllr Collis is incensed by plans for three wind turbines to be positioned on land surrounded by Wimblebury, Rawnsley and Chase Terrace.
He thinks the constant low drone will drive people crazy and would rather they were sited on moorland or at sea.
“I am not against wind farms,” he told The Post. “But this is in the wrong place. It’s green belt land and there are areas of Special Scientific Interest.”
Cllr Collis is calling on local people who live near the site, or pass by it on their travels, to find out all they can about the application which is set to go before Cannock Chase Council before the end of the year.
“This land is one of the last undisturbed views across Cannock Chase,” he said.
“I am absolutely fuming about this. It is going to spoil one of the best views in the area. The land can be better used.”
And he disputes news that turbines do not affect birds. He fears migrating flocks at Chasewater would have problems.
Some people have said they like the look of wind farms. “But beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” he added.
