The government has given the go-ahead for a €24-million wind farm project put forward by Lena Group subsidiary, Eneólica, in the Serra D’Aire mountain range, some 100 kilometres northeast of Lisbon.

The group announced the new wind farm will have an installed capacity of 20 megawatts (MW) and is the third to be authorised by the current government as part of licenses granted in 2008 and 2009.
It brings the installed capacity of all three wind farms to 68 Megawatts totalling an investment of €74 million, according to the Office of the Secretary of State for Energy.
The aim of the new wind farm is the development, implementation and management of renewable energy production projects, according to the Eneolica website.
The company currently has two other wind farms. The first is in Marvila, in the district of Batalha, with a 12-megawatt capacity, which has been operating since 2008 and another in Sicó, in the district of Pombal with an installed capacity of 20 megawatts and also in operation since 2008.
