Wind energy produces ‘net zero power’

Congratulations on Lincoln County’s new setback rules, and Dave Brouwer rightly examines the new parameters. While this is not a ban, it sends a message of caution to developers. However, this setback is in our view, very, very modest and might be reconsidered.

To be honest, the setback Lincoln County proposes and endorses, is modest. Ontario, Canada, has a setback of just a little less, 550 meters and Lincoln County’s comparable is a mere approximately 300 meters more. Ontario, as others, is a hotbed of health complaints and people moving, lives destroyed, communities in confusion, as some take profits and others not. Ontario, sadly, is only one of thousands of communities world wide suffering with inadequate safety setbacks. It is now understood that the impacts of Infra and Low Frequency Noise are spread very far, beyond 30 km and that these silent impacts, below the threshold of hearing, are likely the prime cause of animal deaths and miscarriages and misshapen bones as in Portugal.

Around the world, communities also facing down the barrel of the wind turbine guns, that is an apt comparison, are trying to courageously protect people, wildlife and landscapes. Recent decisions include Poland, 10 times the height of the turbine and from natural, protected forest areas.

We hope that Lincoln County will continue to be vigilant and include in its ordinance, some increasingly prohibitive measures for the rent seekers.

Wind Power, an oxymoron, does not produce meaningful electricity. It always needs 100 percent backup and world wide, only produces net zero power. Net zero. Only the developers get rich.
