Enough is enough when it comes to wind turbines

Credit:  Huron Daily Tribune | Friday, March 31, 2017 | www.michigansthumb.com ~~

It is time to clear something up. Huron County Wind Resistance is a group of residents of Huron County, a good number of them are farmers. We have our personal reasons for joining and it is not driven by the hope or promise of big money. Our common thread is “Enough is Enough.” We are not out to bash anyone, but it seems we are the object of bashing. Don’t people or groups have a right to their opinions?

When you drive in Huron County it is not the same. Almost any road you drive on, you can see wind turbines in the daytime and red flashing lights at night. The number of turbines stands at 473. Do you know, this is only a small percentage of the planned possible 2,824 for the Thumb Region? This projected 2,824 turbines come from the State of Michigan Public Act 295. Can you imagine? Will our families be able to continue to live here? Vote no May 2 on County Zoned Proposals. No means no turbines.

This election includes county-zoned townships Bingham, Bloomfield, Brookfield, Dwight, Fairhaven, Gore, Grant, Hume, Lincoln, McKinley, Rubicon, Sebewaing, Sheridan, Sherman, Sigel and Winsor. If you can help or want a yard sign, call 989-874-4770. Or if you want to donate, you can send a check to Huron County Wind Resistance, P.O. Box 93, Bad Axe, MI 48413.
