Wind farm raises questions that are still unanswered

Credit:  Daily Advance | February 2, 2017 | www.dailyadvance.com ~~

I would like to ask about the Amazon wind turbines farm.

Pasquotank County’s only concern is about the money for its tax base. What is the county going to use the money for exactly and when? What landowners are earning rent? How much are they refunded or putting back into Pasquotank County and when?

I believe the county is misleading the public. When was I or any property owner asked if we wanted a wind farm in our front or back yard? I got asked afterward. Are my property taxes going to be lowered? Will I or anyone who lives close to turbines be given funds for medical damage?

I walk outside at night and all I see are red blinking lights. During the day, I see a skyline full of wind turbines. What a lovely view. There are many articles about damage to horses caused by vibration, human nervous issues, blinking issues and many others.

I am a third-generation Elizabeth City property owner and taxpayer who grew up in the family business here and not once has my opinion been asked before this was done.

Not one speck of current produced by the wind farm will be for this area. Elizabeth City has some of the highest utility rates in the entire country. The city uses utility payment funds for other projects. We need to drain the swamp here, too!
