Stop trying to justify wind turbines

Credit:  The Des Moines Register | December 23, 2016 | www.desmoinesregister.com ~~

The Dec. 18 business section “Wind turbines could boost Iowa crop conditions, ISU study shows” featured a huge front-page picture of a wind turbine towering over a rapidly disappearing landmark from Iowa’s landscape – the ear corn crib! I must commend the Register for the striking photo, causing me to reminisce about “yesteryear” and reminding us of the folly of “climate changers” who view the wind turbine as God’s answer to man’s destruction of His Creation!

What was the purpose of this story? Isn’t it additional waste of taxpayers dollars financing Gene Takle as he attempts to justify the spending of billions on wind technology that will never be recovered? Wind will never survive without massive government subsidies nor will it ever compete in a “free” energy market!

Should we erect a dozen or so wind turbines to enhance crop production because they “may improve growing conditions,” although the article also mentions that’s is hard to tell if those conditions will improve yields. Seriously? Seems a pretty simple matter to check yields of crops associated with and without the effects of a wind turbine.

Unfortunately, this is simply another taxpayer-funded attempt to justify the wind turbine. It is also an ugly monument to a very efficient method of government – sanctioned killing of the bald eagle.
