Say no to wind turbines

Credit:  Caledonian Record | November 22, 2016 | www.caledonianrecord.com ~~

A week or so ago we picked up a copy of the Trendy Times. While reading this paper I came across an article by Senator Joe Benning. The article goes on about Shumlin happily sinking a historic and unprecedented shovel into the dirt of a national forest to assist industrial wind developers. It also goes on and asks, when does it become acceptable in Vermont to destroy its own natural resources? The last eight years have been nothing but debt and destruction. Mountain tops blown up and destroyed forever.

We should take Shumlin’s golden shovel and his white hard hat, which should be black like the bad guys in old western movies. Why don’t you, Senator Benning, talk to other legislators and bring this to a statewide vote, instead of some little community that makes or lets this happen?

So please Senator Benning, talk with your fellow legislators and make this happen.

In the second line of your letter you used the word historic; it really will be if we all have a chance to make this happen.

My wife and I went to the Barton senior meal site a while back. On our way home we came down Route 5 past beautiful Crystal Lake. As we drove my wife said, “There they [the turbines] are.” I really don’t see one thing green about them. The green is gone never to come back.

This whole thing really isn’t about electricity, it’s about power and greed. It was said that this project would heat 16,000 homes, I wonder where. I also would like to know if we in this state really need this electricity.

I also remember the Shumlin administration hiring a man to call us stupid for a large a sum of money. This is our chance to stop the destruction and/or the arrogance. All you legislators were included in this Gruber thing (stupid).

Let’s all be more like the plaque says on former president Harry Truman’s desk, “The buck stops here.” Give us all a chance to tell those industrial wind developers “No More.” Like senator Benning says, “do we really need this?”
