Public hearing set for proposed wind farm

The North Dakota Public Service Commission will hold a public hearing regarding proposed construction of the $375 million Glacier Ridge Wind Farm in Barnes County at 9 a.m. Sept. 27 in Vangstad Auditorium on the Valley City State University campus at 101 College St. SW, Valley City.
The wind farm would sit on a 34,450-acre project area approximately 5 miles northeast of Valley City. It would have a 300.15-megawatt capacity with up to 87 wind turbines.
Additional facilities for the project would include access roads, electrical collection and communication systems and cabling, meteorological towers, an operation and maintenance building and a substation. Permanent structures would occupy up to 92 acres.
The hearing is an opportunity for the public to contribute to the official record. In formation received after the hearing will not be part of the official record for the PSC to base its decision without additional procedures.
