Wind turbine burns – Firefighters can only watch

Es ist ein Brand, gegen den auch die Feuerwehr einigermaßen machtlos ist: Am Freitagmorgen hat ein Windrad in Scholen (Landkreis Diepholz) Feuer gefangen – für die Einsatzkräfte gab es kein Herankommen. Zum Löschen sei es zu hoch, sagte ein Sprecher von Feuerwehr und Polizei am Mittag. Daher habe man sich entschieden, die Anlage kontrolliert abbrennen zu lassen. Der komplette Motorraum brannte aus, die Rotorenblätter stürzten lodernd zu Boden.

Am Freitagmorgen hat in Scholen (Landkreis Diepholz) ein Windrad Feuer gefangen. Brennende Rotorblätter stürzten zu Boden und setzten Getreidefelder kleinflächig in Brand.

Hintergründe sind noch unklar

Die Einsatzkräfte sperrten das Gelände rund um die Anlage weiträumig ab, weil immer wieder brennende Teile zu Boden fielen. Zu der Brandursache und zur Schadenshöhe konnten die Einsatzkräfte noch keine Angaben machen.

Immer wieder kommt es zu Bränden

Es ist nicht das erste Mal, dass eine Windkraftanlage in Norddeutschland in Flammen aufgegangen ist – meist sind technische Defekte die Ursache. Erst vor rund drei Wochen hatte eine Windkraftanlage zwischen Oldersbek und Rantrum im Landkreis Nordfriesland gebrannt. Anfang Juli fing das Getriebehaus einer Windkraftanlage in Lathen (Landkreis Emsland) Feuer. Im April hatte ein Feuer eine Anlage in Oederquart im Landkreis Stade zerstört.
