Hearings scheduled in Allegany County for Dan’s Mountain Wind Force project

Two public hearings will be held on the application of Dan’s Mountain Wind Force, LLC to construct a 59.5 MW wind energy generating facility in Allegany County. The first hearing will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 6:30pm; the second on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 6:30pm. Both hearings will be held at the Allegany College Theater, 12401 Willowbrook Road in Cumberland. Members of the public who wish to comment on the matter are welcome to attend the proceedings before Chief Public Utility Law Judge Terry J. Romine.
According to the application, the wind facility parallel to the northwesterly-facing slope of Dan’s Mountain will include 17 utility-scale turbines located on approximately 2800 acres. A copy of the application is available for public inspection and copying at the Frostburg Library, 65 E. Main Street in Frostburg.
