Ard speaks with an independent voice

Many readers may be aware of the controversial Town of Forest vs. Highland Wind Farm and the near six-year fight to stop a forced industrial wind turbine installation that a majority of landowners oppose. With no other agenda other than public service, Scottie educated us about state laws and processes we could use to fight against Highland Wind. She helped us learn how to be stronger together. Scottie believes in responsible, ethical renewable energy that does not devastate a township and taint an entire county with a threat of an expanded industrial build-out. I don’t have the choice to vote for Scottie. Forest was taken out of District 29 during the 2011 redistricting by a Madison law firm hired to draw the lines, which also represents the wind developer, a decision that may have been intentional to isolate Forest from high profile representation in Madison.

In this 2016 election cycle, many of us are uncertain of who to vote for. But those of you in the Wisconsin Assembly District 29 have a clear, intelligent choice – Scottie Ard. Scottie is running for a representative seat in Madison as a democrat; however, she stands as an independent voice of the people. As her constituents, your voice will matter in Madison as a democratic process, not as a party affiliation.

Scottie has the grit to stand her ground and see laws made based on constitutional rights that reinstate local control, promote equitable public education funding, uphold environmental protection, and promote smart economic development. Imagine a representative that will take on the issues that improve every Wisconsin resident’s quality of life, including veterans and the elderly.

Can you vote for a candidate that backs small business initiatives, promotes job creation, and will fight for whole community public health and safety? That candidate is Scottie Ard. As alderman for the city of New Richmond, her public service record and commitment to transparent government make Scottie hands-down the most qualified candidate for election to the Wisconsin legislative body.

Step one is to vote Scottie Ard for Wisconsin Assembly District 29 in the democratic primary on Aug. 9 against Randy Knaack. Then take step two: Vote for the people, not the party, to elect Scottie on Nov. 8. Take the time to view Scottie’s website: http://www.ard429.com and learn the details of her campaign. Put western Wisconsin and District 29 where it deserved to be – front and center in Madison by electing Scottie Ard to the Wisconsin State Assembly.

How do I know Scottie is your candidate? Many readers may be aware of the controversial Town of Forest vs. Highland Wind Farm and the near six-year fight to stop a forced industrial wind turbine installation that a majority of landowners oppose.

With no other agenda other than public service, Scottie educated us about state laws and processes we could use to fight against Highland Wind. She helped us learn how to be stronger together. I don’t have the choice to vote for Scottie. Forest was taken out of District 29 during the 2011 redistricting by a Madison law firm hired to draw the lines, which also represents the wind developer, a decision that may have been intentional to isolate Forest from high profile representation in Madison.

The 2011 state redistricting is currently in litigation based on allegations of gerrymandering. Scottie’s no-nonsense style will not tolerate gerrymandering in any form for any reason. That is just one more reason to elect her to represent Assembly District 29. You will not regret getting on board Engine 29 with Scottie Ard. Elect her to ride into Madison with the whistle blowing and bring back state government by the people and for the people.
