LUPC – Windpower Expedited Area Petitions: Petitions Filed For Six Areas

LUPC Windpower Expedited Area Petitions

In response to Public Law 2015, Chapter 265 “An Act to Improve Regulatory Consistency within the Jurisdiction of the Maine Land Use Planning Commission,” the LUPC has received petitions to remove the following areas from the expedited permitting area for wind energy development:

• Carrying Place Township, Somerset County
• Codyville Plantation, Washington County
• Forest Township, Washington County
• Kingsbury Plantation, Piscataquis County
• Lambert Lake Township, Washington County
• Orneville Township, Piscataquis County

Persons who wish to request substantive review of any of these petitions must submit their request no later than midnight of Monday, August 1, 2016. Details on how to request substantive review and the effect of that review are available at:
