Investigation into Ballyduff wind farm sought

“It’s not about money anymore for us, it’s about justice.”

These are the words of a group of landowners united against the developers of a 12-turbine wind farm in Ballyduff who are seeking to have their concerns independently investigated, as they claim they were ‘severely wronged’ throughout the construction of the Barranafaddock Windfarm near their lands.

Completed last year, the wind farm between Ballyduff and Araglin was brought to fruition by Element Power Ltd., with whom the landowners have grievances, although the company has since sold the site to US company GE Electric Financial Services.

The group of landowners argue that they have not received payments that were due to them through option agreement and turbary rights, with additional concerns over the role of the planning department in the development.
