Facts failed to inform editorial on wind energy

A serious issue for Cape Cod deserves more than your work-shy editorial of Nov. 28 “Turbine troubles.”

After several years of debate over the installation of land-based wind turbines on Cape Cod, “New England’s Newspaper of the Year” appears willfully uninformed about turbine regulations and turbine-related health effects.

Not mentioned in your editorial are the Cape Cod Commission’s wind turbine regulations that have already been adopted for Barnstable County – perhaps the strictest regulations in the nation.

Contrary to your view, it is a very positive development that these regulations currently “render vast areas of the Cape as totally unviable for wind turbines.”

More astonishing, however, is the Times’ callous attitude toward Falmouth citizens and their “claiming” of negative health effects. Does the Times believe that these people and many other turbine neighbors worldwide are lying or deluded?

A little local digging and listening would have done wonders for your editorial.
