Fire in windmill on Midtfjellet

Seint natt til laurdag melde augevitner frå til brannvesnet på Fitjar om at det brann i ei av vindmøllene på Midtfjellet. Då brannmannskapet kom fram hadde brannen gitt seg og – som bileta viser – var heile generatorhuset på vindmølla totalskadd.

Operasjonsleiar Trond Åsbu ved Haugaland og Sunnhordland politidistrikt seier til Haugesunds Avis at dei fekk melding om brannen i fem tida laurdag morgon, og at brannen truleg er av teknisk karakter. – Brannen sløkte seg sjølv etter at straumen vart slått av, seier Åsbu.

Området der vindmølla står er no sperra av, då fleire deler fall i bakken etter brannen.
