A ruling on whether to grant planning permission for a controversial €200m wind farm in east Donegal will not be given today, Donegal Now can reveal.
Cork-based company Planree Limited wants to erect 49 wind turbines over a 15 km area stretching from north of the Barnsemore Gap to near Killygordon.
Under the fast-tracking Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) process, the planning application by-passed Donegal County Council and was lodged directly with An Bord Pleanala in January.
The Carrickaduff windfarm proposals promoted considerable local debate and over 200 objections were made.
Originally a decision was scheduled for today.
However, a spokesman for An Bord Pleanala confirmed to Donegal Now that there will be no decision today.
The applicant has provided further information in response to the third party submissions and this is now being examined.
A decision will now not be made for a number of weeks.
