Residents opposed to a wind farm being built in Rhondda Cynon Taf are to hold a demonstration this coming weekend.

The group opposed to construction on Mynydd y Glyn mountain, Pontypridd, are holding a rally on Sunday, 16th August, at the car park of the Queen’s Head Pub, Penycoedcae.

Friends of Mynydd y Glyn, which includes residents from Pontypridd, Llantrisant, Tonyrefail, Porth are calling for councillors and politicians to reject the proposed plans.

Local environmentalist, John Evans claims the wind farm poses “major threats to our local wildlife and natural environment”.

Sue Morris, from Penycoedcae and a member of Friends of Mynydd y Glyn, says opposition to proposed wind farm is growing every day:

“”Tragically, if you stand at the top of the mountain you can see that many of the surrounding peaks are already covered in wind turbines – and their numbers seem to be growing year by year. It has to stop.”
