Dispute ongoing between Ballyduff landowners and wind farm developers

A group of landowners embroiled in the development of 12 wind turbines in Ballyduff say they have been manipulated by the company behind the Barranafaddock wind farm and have not received the payments that are due to them through option agreement and turbary rights. They’ve stated that they feel they have been treated as ‘second-class citizens’ by the developers of the wind farm.

They also state that right-of-ways have been ignored and interfered with, the scenic landscape has been jeopardised and issues with noise and light pollution have not been resolved. A spokesperson for the landowners told The Avondhu this week: “They have manipulated us badly, and used us …
