The Hawaiian Homes Commission will be conducting two public hearings at the end of July 2015 to accept testimony regarding a proposed alternative energy wind project with NextEra Energy Resources, LLC located on Hawaiian Home Lands in Kahikinui, Maui.

An informational meeting was held on Monday for Maui Hawaiian Home Lands beneficiaries, as a precursor to the public hearings that will be held later this month.

The public hearings are both scheduled to take place at the Paukūkalo Community Center, located at 657 Kaumualiʻi Street in Wailuku, Maui.

The first meeting will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29; and the second meeting will run from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, July 30, 2015.

All beneficiary and public feedback will be reviewed, with final decision making on the proposed project currently scheduled for the Hawaiian Home Commission meeting in Lahaina, Maui, on August 17 and 18, 2015.
