A plan to build wind turbines on Cape Cod has been killed.
The Orleans board of selectmen and the town’s board of water commissioners decided not to proceed with a project to install two wind turbines in town.
The 397-foot turbine towers were intended to offset the cost of pumping and treating the municipal water system.
But many people in town complained about about poor communication and planning by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative.
Selectmen voted that they would discuss future plans for municipal wind energy at their next meeting on October 2nd.
