New plans for Eddleston turbines

Credit:  Peeblesshire News | 9 Mar 2015 | www.peeblesshirenews.com ~~

A fresh application to erect turbines near Eddleston has been revealed.

Kilrubie Wind Farm Ltd want to develop a site to the west of the village.

They hope to erect seven 115-metre high turbines on a site adjacent to Cloich Forest.

Bosses from the green energy company have already met with community councillors.

And they will host two public consultation events next month.

A spokesman for Kilrubie Wind Farm Ltd said: “All comments received will be read, recorded and considered by the project team.

“Where possible the appropriate changes will be made to the scheme proposals, and where not, reasons will be provided.”

A recent application for eight turbines at nearby Romanno Bridge was rejected by Scottish Borders Council.

And a public enquiry will be held at the Peebles Hydro Hotel towards the end of May into an 18-turbine application for Cloich Forest.

The Kilrubie Wind Farm Ltd public consultation events will take place at Barony Castle Hotel on Friday, April 17, and at Peebles Drill Hall the following day.
