Brazen move by wind developers

Credit:  Eiserman: Brazen move by wind developers | Casper Star-Tribune | trib.com ~~

In the Nov. 18 issue of the Star Tribune (“Wind farm sues to block release of data on birds killed by turbines”), I could not believe wind farm developers are suing the federal government to prevent the public from knowing the number of birds killed by their turbines. This an irresponsible act to prevent the public from knowing the severe impact wind farms have on bird populations.

I cannot think of a legitimate corporation that would conceal from the public their modus operandi. This is unless their activities are harmful to the public interest. This could be the case where large number of bids are concerned.

This request is being made, to deprive the fact that the U.S. taxpayers has provided $7.3 billion over the past seven years in tax subsidies to an industry that is requesting shelter from government information on certain aspects of their operations.

How brazen can you get?

FRED EISERMAN, Casper
