Proposals that would have seen three wind turbines built at Chapelton Farm have been turned down by South Ayrshire Council.
The turbines which would have each been 67m in height were set to be built on a slope of High Chapelton hill, situated 3.5km east of Turnberry and 8.3km north east of Girvan.
Seven objections were received to the plans with four in support.
David Anderson of VG Energy speaking for the applicant criticised the council’s report.
He said: “There are a lot of sweeping statements in the report and there is no clear and transparent evidence about the turbines.
“Has this policy been supplemented by guidance and policy or is it full of opinions from the reporter?
“There is a lack of evidence on the appropriate impact too.”
Mr Anderson also claimed that requests for meetings before the application were turned down.
However, this was rejected by council officer Catherine Parish who said that nowhere on record was there any written requests for meetings that were demanded and denied.
Maybole and North Carrick councillor Ann Galbraith said: “There was nothing positive in your case and it was full of criticism all the way through.”
And Troon councillor Nan McFarlane said that she was more than happy with the policy she had in front of her.
The regulatory panel unanimously rejected the proposals.
