Residents and business owners voiced their objections to plans to install two 100ft wind turbines in the Shropshire countryside.
At a packed meeting last night of Condover Parish Council residents living close to the proposed site near Moorlands Kennels, Condover, near Shrewsbury, vehemently opposed plans, submitted by Urban Wind, for the two wind turbines.
The field planned for the turbines is linked to the village’s Green Farm, which recently won permission for a 35,000-panel solar farm in another nearby field.
Mr Graham Evans spoke not only as a local resident but also as a member of Condover Golf Club. He said he would not wish to look out on two enormous wind turbines from every window of his house and added that golf club members would be teeing off from the third tee in the shadow of the turbines if the plan gets the go-ahead.
Chairman of the council Tony Tudor said they needed more time to consider the matter and recommended that residents send their opinions to Shropshire Council.
He added the parish council’s planning committee would consider the matter on February 18.
Public consultation runs until February 14 with a decision due by March 21.
