Members of Belford Parish Council last night voted to object to the application for a nine-turbine windfarm at Belford Burn.
Following the public meeting about the proposals from Energiekontor UK on Monday night, at which residents and visitors raised a number of concerns, the parish council met to discuss its response.
And members felt that they had to reflect the views of the public, voting five to zero to object to the application with two abstentions.
The council also considered three applications from Bedmax in Detchant. They have led to further concerns about the state of the road into the site and its use by HGVs, which have been the source of long-standing complaints from residents in the hamlet.
