Rethink on stalled wind farm

A wind farm near Goulburn capable of powering 22,000 houses could be operating within two years.
The Woodlawn wind farm had received New South Wales Government planning approvals, but has been on hold because of doubts about its economic viability.
But now one of the joint venturers in the project, Canberra energy provider ActewAGL, believes it is time to proceed.
Spokesman John Mackay says the price of coal fired electricity and the demand for green energy are both on the rise.
“So I’m pretty confident,” he said.
“If it doesn’t stack up at Woodlawn it won’t stack up on any wind farm.”
Mr Mackay will formally take the proposal to ActewAGL’s board this week.
