British Gas owners Centrica is under fire for offering too little to Sutton Bridge following the development of a £1billion offshore wind farm.
Parish councillors were hoping there would be some cash offered for works to the pavilion in Memorial Park so the community could benefit.
Centrica recorded a nine per cent surge in profits to £1.58billion in the period to June 30 this year.
Councillors have held talks with the company and say wants it wants to put up educational boards in Sir Peter Scott Way.
Coun Shirley Giles said: “They want to give us tuppence.”
She said when councillors asked for help with the pavilion, the company suggested it could put up its educational boards inside the building.
