The Federal Government has received an application for a proposed wind farm near Kyneton in central Victoria.
Roaring 40s Renewable Energy wants to build a 34-turbine wind farm between Pastoria and Baynton, north-west of Kyneton.
The company says data collected at the site since 2004 shows it has adequate wind resources.
A resident in the area, John Howard, is concerned the turbines would pose a fire danger and adversely affect the environment.
“A disturbance of this country right through here as I’ve stated in our submissions to the state and federal governments will lift the salinity levels up, which are already at 16,000 tonnes a year,” he said.
