Be cautious of wind farm plans

Residents of all Livingston County should be opening their eyes wide and listening up when you hear anything about wind farms.
The impression most folks have is that a few windmills will be placed only around the town of Blackstone. Not so! The current proposal covers huge tracts of land from Pontiac to Dwight. Poor Odell is in the middle, and is to be surrounded by the 450-foot-tall eyesores.
Once they are up, you know they won’t come down, unlike the value of the property in the county. Attend the 6 p.m. July 10th zoning meeting in Pontiac. Don’t let Livingston County be just a place suitable for dumps and wind farms.
