Plans lodged with Mid Beds to assess viability of wind farm
A wind measuring mast could soon be in place near Biggleswade as preparations for a wind farm begin.
Plans for the mast were submitted to Mid Beds District Council at the end of last week by Dulas on behalf of the Co-operative Group – which hopes to be able to site a wind farm on the land in the future.
The 60m mast would measure wind speed and direction data for the next two years, and would be used to assess the viability of a wind farm on the land, which stretches from Edworth Way to Holme Green and the railway line to the A1 – a plot measuring around two by one-and-a-half miles.
